- - - - Two young journalists Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward took on the story and published it the Washington Post.
        
        Woodward and Bernstein got their info from a man under an alias named Deep throat who we later found out is former FBI Deputy Director Mark Felt.
        
        The White House tried to disrupt the investigation on the Watergate scandal by using hush money, faking audio recordings, begging the CIA to end the investigation.
        
        The Smoking gun tapes were released and there was 18 minutes of "missing"(deleted) recordings of Nixon discussing Watergate.
