An infection that inflames air sacs in the lungs
Pneumonia can go from mild to severe
More serious in infants, young adults, elderly over 65 years, and multiple health conditions
pneumonia is Contagious and can spread from person to person

Interventions
Administering interventions
Provide adequate fluids to prevent dry mouth/ cough
Help the patient take deep breaths and cough to prevent mucus build up
Raise the head of the bed to 30-45 degrees

Difficulty breathing
lung abscess
bacteremia
Fluid accumulation
Patient education
Proper hand hygiene to prevent the transfer of germs
if the patient is a smoker you want to explain the risk of it with having pneumonia
teach patient to maintain adequate resting
Teach patient to take prescribed medication as scheduled
