Feminist Art (Historical)

Slow Movements - slow art, slow revolution, slow politics. Can also tie into this sense of how feminist practices are cyclic due to the patriarchs ability to forget previous interventions. - how has previous works from my practice an example of this....

Sexisms in HE

FEAS - as case study but also could be another creative outcome

Gender & gender bias

Performance and Performance Art

ARC & general HE Environment

OUTCOME: Textile interventions (tufting) Creating 2021 feminist slogans in furry carpet form and other structures like a "big wedge". These are to be placed in public spaces round the institution or other areas.

the body as political and embodiment

OUTCOME:
New performance work YONDER - looks at space physically and metaphorically and the sexisms within these arena's. Using outer-space and sci-fi content as a aesthetic foundation, the work takes aim at what our potential future spaces are. Will sexism continue to be "out of this world" and will the "feminist cause" have a role in how these spaces are formed? In the pursuit of new inhabitable planets how do we prevent it from becoming another white hetro-patriarchal colonised space? Will historical representations in art and life follow us yonder? .....This is where the work will begin.

The work will explore how choreographic and theatrical works can be an alternate space of learning.

Can such works be subtle invention with long lasting lingering effects?

This is a work I see as a extension of Slow Burn Together, but also recognise that it will shift and change as the research and ARC gets going.

intersectionality

Outcome: A museum of interventions, a physical space where small creative interventions are presented but also can act as a gathering space for conscious raising in 2021. The textile interventions could be part of this, as well #FEAS, other performances etc. Potentially becoming a fixture in the institution...that would be the goal to prevent future forgetting.....i think there is also a cross over in ideas of archiving, admin, tending to the small things that can play out in this space
