- - - - The Atlanta Shooter is protected from having his heinous act of violence reprimanded by those who express a "fundamental disposition to social order, almost inevitably hierarchical, in which all the social body's members play their proper roles" (Miller 29-30). Shapiro and Carlson display this disposition.
      - Threatening whiteness is contrary to the properly ordered social body.
        
        Shapiro's emphasis on absolving white people of their crimes (by blaming Black Americans, no less) embodies Baldwin's observation of the "white man's profound desire not to be judged by those who are not white, not to be seen as he is...to be released from the tyranny of his mirror" (Baldwin 29).
        
        (Shapiro 10:08) “Our media don’t actually want to look into the statistics because if they do that they might actually discover that the source of a lot of Anti-Asian hate crimes are actually coming from another minority group, namely the ‘Black community’”
        
        Carlson claims that "Black Lives Matter" is being used a weapon against Americans by the Chinese government just 3 days after the Atlanta shooting.
        
        Black Lives Matter confronts white supremacy and therefore questions the status of whiteness. This is unacceptable and triggers a "deep-seated, visceral, and non-rational socially and politically dysphoric" (Miler 45) reaction in Carlson.
        
        The Right refers to BLM protesters as “looters and rioters” because they are disordering the social body, and that is unacceptable, no matter their motives
        
        (Shapiro 36:54) “We now have a laundering of language...so now whiteness is the problem. Which sounds super racist, right? ‘Whiteness is the problem.’ Imagine if someone said blackness is the problem?”
- - - - Ben Shapiro is a notable media figure on the Right. He reaches a wide audience with over 3 million subscribers and 3.4 million Twitter followers. His pinned tweet reads: "Facts don't care about your feelings." He is Jewish, and often compares Anti-Semitism to other forms of oppression to make his point.
      - (Shapiro 19:11) “You see, even if there’s no proof in this particular case that this evil piece of crap who committed the shooting actually was Anti-Asian, we can still say that it’s Anti-Asian white supremacy without any evidence at all”
    - - Shapiro is playing into the theme of white victimhood. Christian Nationalism needs a threat to fight, and Shapiro is twisting the Atlanta Shooting into an example of the modern day threat to whiteness.
  - - - “Not once did I consider whether exotification, misogyny, or Asian fetishization had anything to do with my shame" (Hong)
  - - - Carlson is ignoring the Atlanta Shooting because it is evidence that his approach of villainizing China on air has led to horrific violence.
- - - - Here, Shapiro is suggesting that if you disagree with liberal ideology to any capacity you will be labeled a white supremacist and persecuted as such.
        
        Shapiro is using the Atlanta Shooting to further polarize America.
  - - - In order to advertise himself as a savior, Carlson must create a sense of threat for his viewers, no matter how damaging to the lives of Asian Americans.
