Types of Rocks

Formed when existing rocks are broken down and deposited somewhere else, where they are compacted over time.
Metamorphic
Formed by high pressure, high heat, and hot fluid containing lots of minerals. Can be formed by one or more of these.
Weathering: When rocks are broken down by the environment; mainly through wind, ice, and water.

Erosion: This process takes place once weathering has occurred. Erosion carries pieces of rocks to new places, where they may be transformed into other types of rocks.
