Poor disciples had gone through the mill

Had to accept several New Normals

Following Jesus - fishing for men

Seeing him arrested - killed

Thinking that he was going to be the one to rescue the Jews Jerusalem

And then risen

Getting used to that

So is it now that you're going to rescue the Jews?

The realizing that their new normal - their forever normal - was much, much bigger

Yes, Jesus was going to rescue the Jews - and the Samaritans - and all nations

But through them!

With HS - Power!

Not the power that would force people - but the power as shown by Jesus - the power of love, and reconciliation, and healing, and forgiveness

And knowledge of God's love

and inspiration to write all this down

And pass it on to future generations

Through the establishment of the church

And the Bible

And here we are - disciples - in that long line - started with those 11 uneducated men - awaiting another New Normal as out churches begin to welcome people again
