TYPES
International migration
Change of residence outside national borders. An international migrant is someone who moves to a
country.
Internal migration
Change of residence within borders, such as between states, provinces, cities or municipalities.
CAUSES
Political Causes
Migration as punishment for crimes committed, as a result of slavery, forced migration, or to escape from military war
Social Causes
To spread a religion, to meet with family or friends who have previously emigrated, to spread a political philosophy, to find personal freedom.
Economic Causes
In search of better economic conditions, to escape from overpopulation and its effects, from bad weather conditions and natural disasters.

Demographic
Positive
Migration from the countryside to the city contributes to the growth of the population of the cities.
Negative
Imbalances in sexual composition due to selective migration. Rural areas face a shortage of skilled people because most migrate to urban areas
Environmental
Migration from the countryside to the city has put pressure on the social and physical infrastructure of urban areas, leading to an unplanned growth of urban settlements, the formation of slums and the depletion of resources due to overexploitation of these.
CONCEPT
Migration is the movement of a person or persons of one from one place to another. The number of migrants around the world has doubled since WWII.
Social
Negative
It affects more women, men leave their wives thus increasing their vulnerability. Create a social void and a feeling of discouragement among people
Positive
Migrants act as agents of social change due to new related ideas of technologies, family planning, education, etc. Migration leads to the mixing of people of diverse cultures
