WW2 in Asia
- World War II started from the feud between China and Japan, caused mass destruction and led to the entire world becoming involved

- Germany was central to this as they wanted to regain their power and gain land

- growing movement in political life, appealing to many young officers
Holocaust
- one of the worst outcomes of the war, when Hitler decided to eliminate the Jewish population in Germany

- leader of fascist Germany from 1933 to his suicide in 1945
Communism in Eastern Europe
- communists promised the people of Eastern Europe a new era of equality and economic plenty under a socialist system.
Nazi Party
- a nationalist society in Germany that came to power in 1935, rejected Jews because they were seen as an alien presence in Germany.
Ho Chi Minh
- led the Việt Minh independence movement from 1941 onward, establishing the Communist-ruled Democratic Republic of Vietnam

- came to power in 1922, promised to both communism and democratic rule that brought a lot of violence.

- the peasantry were forced to give up their individual farms and join large collective farms
