Parents and students should be a part in each part of the process.
Possible strategies to implement depending on needs:
• Hands-on learning
• Simply listening to the students, even if it is challenging to understand what they are saying (being present)
• Allow for breaks and movement
• Grouping (how, when, with who, etc)
• Encourage non academic growth
• Quiet work space-designated work space
• Routines/consistency, especially for younger aged (special needs and not)
• Repetition of content daily/weekly, online tools are great for this!
• Accommodations or any type of support should always have guidelines/rules, have different ways of submissions
for assignments/learning activities
• Safety measures: removal of sharp objects, constant supervision if needed, poisonous liquids
• Life skills/social skills
• Specific/clear directions, immediate feedback, connect with parents
