TYPES
Irregular
This type of migration occurs outside the laws, regulations or international agreements that govern entry or exit from the country of origin.
Regular
It is the movement of people that occurs within the legality established by the country of origin, the country of transit and the country of destination.
International migration
This refers to change of residence over national boundaries. An international migrant is someone who moves to a different country.

Internal migration
This refers to a change of residence within national boundaries, such as between states, provinces, cities, or municipalities.
CONSEQUENCES
Demographic consequences
Positive consequences: Migration leads to the redistribution of the population within a country. Results in a balanced distribution of people according to resources. Negative consequences: It leads to imbalances in sexual composition due to male or female selectivity migration rural areas face a shortage of skilled people because most of them people migrate to urban areas.
Economic consequences
Positive consequences: The remittances (payments) that migrants send home help the region's economy grow. Negative consequences: underdevelopment gets even worse due to the emigration of qualified people
Social consequences
Positive consequences: migrants act as agents of social change. New ideas related to new
technologies, family planning, girls' education, etc. Negative consequences: It also causes anonymity, which generates a social emptiness and a feeling of discouragement between individuals. Migration that leaves their families behind puts additional physical and mental pressure on their family, increasing their vulnerability.

The United Nations defines migration as the movement of a person or persons from one place to another. “Human Migration is the permanent change of residence by an individual or groups, excluding such movements as nomadism and migrant labour”.
