Causes
Smoking: High tobacco consumption results in renal carcinoma. This tobacco content accumulates in the kidneys which ends up in carcinoma
Obesity: People who are overweight are at risk of kidney cancer. This overweight causes changes in hormones that enhance the chances of renal cancer.
High blood pressure: Hypertension can lead to renal cancer. It can develop when the patient is taking treatment for high blood pressure
Workplace exposures: Bieng exposed to workplaces that deal with heavy industries. Certain chemicals like trichloroethylene increase the risk for renal cancer

Definition
It is also termed as renal cancer, is a disease whereby the cells of the kidneys change to being malignant and expand out control and end up in a tumour formation
Pathophysiology: Kidney cancer begins when a portion of kidney cells undergoes changes or mutation along their DNA. This DNA contains instructions that send messages on the cells functioning. This results in the accumulation of abnormal cells which form a tumour that extends beyond the kidneys resulting in kidney cancer.
