Water cycle - Coggle Diagram
Water cycle
-
Step 1:Evaporation
-
-Heat from the sun causes water on earth: lakes, oceans, seas or other water bodies - turn from liquid into gas and rise into the atmosphere. from there the water vapor is collected in the sky in the form of clouds.
Step 2: Condensation
As the water vapor in the clouds cools down, when it meets with cold air. It becomes water again through the process of condensation.
-
Step 3: Precipitation
Water then falls from the sky in the form of snow, rain and hail.
-
Step 4: Runoff
-
Runoff is the process where water runs over the surface of the earth. When snow melts into water it leads into runoff. This runoff combines to form channels, then rivers and eventually into lakes.
Step 5: Infiltration
Some of the water that precipitates does not runoff into rivers and is then absorbed by plants or gets evaporated. It moves deep into the soil and that is what we call in filtration.
-
Step 6: Collection
Oceans and lakes collect water that has fallen. Water evaporates into the sky again and the cycle continues.
