Hormones of the reproductive system
estrogen-Estrogen helps control the menstrual cycle and is important for childbearing.
HCG- hCG's primary role is to keep the corpus luteum functioning
progesterone
-It plays important roles in the menstrual cycle and in maintaining the early stages of pregnancy
Testerone-
The development of the penis and testes
FSH-
Males-FSH helps control the production of sperm.
Females-FSH helps control the menstrual cycle and stimulates the growth of eggs in the ovaries.
LH
Males-LH causes the testicles to make testosterone,
female-LH helps control the menstrual cycle. It also triggers the release of an egg from the ovary
GnRH-GnRH causes the pituitary gland to secrete LH and FSH.
Events of the female hormonal cycles
menstruation-The cycle starts when the egg from the previous menstrual cycle does not become fertilized. Hormone levels of estrogen and progesterone drop.
ovulation-Estrogen and LH levels are high.Ovulation happens about 14 days before your period starts.
follicular phase-The follicular phase typically lasts around 10–16 days.FSH and estrogen levels are high
luteal phase-The length of the luteal phase can vary, but it tends to be around 14 days.Progesterone levels are high.
