In the Ecuadorian highlands, seven great cultures can be distinguished, they are: the Caranquis, Yumbos, Quitus, Panzaleos, Puruháes, Cañaris and Paltas.
The Caranquis-Cayambes were one of the most interesting cultures in Ecuador, they were a diarchic state, with capitals in Caranqui and Cayambe.In the inter-Andean or sierra region is the Andes mountain range, and it crosses it from north to south. In this, the products of the erosion of the two mountain ranges and the volcanic material were sedimented. You can find volcanoes and peaks that exceed 5,000 meters in height, which have adequate accesses, high mountain shelters and specialized services such as: Cotopaxi, Cayambe, Antisana, Tungurahua, Altar and Sangay, are already registered in the international arena in addition to Chimborazo, the highest peak in the country.
