Graph a Line on the Map, Use a linear equation, Find the slope of a line,…
-
Use a linear equation
Slope = m
-
To graph a slope, move up the given number of (rise), move sideways the number of (run) on the line.
-
Y-intercept
-
-
-
X- axis
The x-axis will usually appear on the equation as X, shows the axis of the graph in an equation form
Graph the slope
-
Ex:
- To graph m use rise/run, which will appear as a fraction on the equation.
-
- Graph the y-intercept (B) on the y-axis
-
Write a linear equation
Y= mx+b
Ex:
- When the slope is found, format the fraction (rise/run) as m on the equation.
- Use rise over run to find the slope of the line.
- Find the point where the y-axis cuts, write the number as B.
