Pathophysiology
Gigantism occurs due to overproduction of development chemical known as growth hormone, which is brought about by hyperplasia of anterior pituitary organ. May form into a tumor. Deformity in nerve center, which guides the anterior pituitary gland to overabundance measures of growth hormone. Occurs in children before epiphysis closure.
Nursing diagnosis
Disturbed self-perception related to growth of body parts as evidenced by amplified hands, feet and jaw.
