HOW IS THE PROCEDURE DONE?
Patient must be on a semi-reclining position.
well stabilized head, no movement of head occurring.
small cuts on upper lip and on front of the sinus cavity.
insert the speculum, ensuring that the nasal cavity is open.
insert endoscope to get projected images of the nasal cavity.
use forceps, pituitary rongeurs to remove the tumor or the pituitary gland as the whole.
reconstruct the site using fats , bone and operation materials
gauze applied with antibacterial ointment should be inserted in the nose to prevent any bleeding and infection.
DEFINATION
Surgical removal of pituitary gland or a tumor in the pituitary gland

nose must not be blown or clean
not to return on normal daily activities.
POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS INCLUDES:
Leakage of CSF
Hypopituitarism treated with HRT
Body does not properly controls amount of water in the body.
