How to graph a line
Using a value table (both input and output): *obtain ordered pairs, plot them, and graph them.
-
-
Using the formula y=mx+b (where m represents the slope and b represents the y-intercept): To graph, first plot the y-intercept (b), then Rise and Run using the slope (m).

How to use y=mx+b?
-

m = slope; use m to determine Rise/Run and the direction of the line (positive or negative).
b = y-intercept (where the line intersects the y axis) The point of intersection has x equal to zero (because it is on the y axis), so you can find a point on the line (0,b)
To graph a line, use the slope (m) and the point (0,b).
Knowing the slope and the y-intercept point, you can write an equation for a line.
