Issues ( Nicole )
Operates in isolation from the rest of the healthcare systems and therefore lack support and connection
Nursing homes can join partnership with public institution . This would allow them to get more support from the healthcare systems in Singapore
Strategies ( Nicole )
Bed Crunch
Nursing home could 'renovate' and add more beds and rooms , since there is a silver tsunami
They could also come up with a system that 'prioritize' patients who are in more need. For example, patient with no one to care for, with requires the spot compared to patient with a less 'severe' illness
strategies (Mariyam)
Not enough funding
lack of funding which is causing BED CRUNCHES and UNDERSTAFFMENT and STAFF NOT GETTING PAID ENOUGH can be solved through having the government allocate more resources to improve the nursing sector in Singapore.

- Cost of healthcare has been rising due to latest technology therefore nursing homes do not have as much funding and resources as compared to a public hospital
- Due to the increasing number of patients, there is not enough manpower to go around. Staff will be overworked. Due to this, people do not want to work in the healthcare sector
- Due to the silver tsunami, there will not be enough beds
- Nursing homes mostly work independently from public institutes.
- Giving bonuses/benefits might encourage them to work more and they can also benefit from it like those working in a hospital
- This can encourage more people to work hence, increasing manpower
-
- Staff are being overworked and underpaid
- They can gain more experiences that can be applied at work/handling patients
- The staffs complains of not being paid over time/pays are too low.
- It is important that staffs are paid fairly so they can work more productively
