If a person does not eat protein rich diet for days he/she may catch a disease called kwashiorkor - what happens in this disease mainly is that it happens in an age group listing from 0-5 years but it does not stop here because that person would have symptoms of stunted growth, discoloration of hair, cracks in his skin or skin problems and bulging stomach

Test for proteins
To test the presence of protein we need Copper sulphate, sodium hydroxide a paste or powder of egg albumin and water. To perform this test we need to grind the food we are testing in to paste or powder and add 10 drops of water to it. To this we need to add 2 drops of copper sulphate and 10 drops of sodium hydroxide. if the color changes to violet, it is the indicative of proteins

Components of food rich in fats are- meat, ghee, butter, cheese, oil etc.
Test for fats
To test the presence of fats in a food item we need a groundnut or almonds and a piece of paper. To perform this test we need to wrap the food with a paper and proceed to crush, then unwrap the paper and if you see the oily patches whilst holding it against light, it shows the presence of fats.
