DEFINITION
insufficient production of thyroid hormone

PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
The atrophy or (enlargement) of thyroid tissue
Pituitary disease leading to less stimulation of thyroid
NURSING DIAGNOSIS
imbalanced body temperature
Activity intolerance , related to fatigue
Difficulty in defecation
NURSING INTERVENTION
Protect against harsh weather
diet high in fiber
Monitor fluid intake
Do pulmonary excercises for respiratory symptoms
DIET
Saltwater fish
whole eggs
Iodized table salt
Milk
Cheese
