Pathophysiology
Oral squamous cell carcinoma is the end product of an unregulated proliferation of mucous basal cells
A single precursor cell is transformed into a clone consisting of many daughter cells with accumulation of altered genes (oncogenes)
Clinical manifestations

Difficulty chewing, swallowing or speaking
Persistent sores on face, neck and mouth that bleed easily
