Assessment
It is understood as a gathering and discussing information process by which it is possible to gain an understanding of what students know and can do with their knowledge
Evaluation
is defined as the integration of all the factors that influence the learning process such as “syllabus objectives, course design, materials, methodology
it is not limited to numbers or just giving students tests results and marks, but includes other important information for assessing students’ performance
assessing students’ ability to use the English language when interpreting and producing oral and written texts in order to give and obtain personal and non-personal factual information
Testing
It can be understood as an instrument or procedure designed to ask students questions which we, as teachers, already know their answers.

Assessment methods
Informal assessment
It is a way of collecting information about students’ performance- they show what they can do - in normal classroom tasks designed to elicit their performance. It is also known as non-conventional assessment method.
Self assessment
Self-assessment promotes in students introspection on their performance of a language task and involves students assessing what they themselves have learned and can do in English.
Formal assessment
It is a systematic and planned exercise –usually in the form of a test- designed with the purpose of giving teacher and student an appraisal of students’ language strengths and weaknesses.
