New Imperialism gave Europeans a feeling of entitlement, because they were one of, if not the most dominating World power, politically and socially. Society became wrapped around the idea that since they were better, they should have power over the other peoples on Earth. For example, the Human zoos saw Africans enclosed in African mock villages, and had to go about life as usual, while white Europeans jeered and dehumanized them even further. Atrocities like this were justified by Social Darwinism, taken to its extreme. The same ideologies of "survival of the fittest" were used to justify slavery,
