- You breathe in air with oxygen.
- It travels through your nose and mouth, and then throat to your windpipe.
Diaphragm
- It enters the lungs.
- Goes into smaller tubes into air sacs.
- Oxygen goes through the walls of the lungs into the blood vessels.
- The blood goes to the heart and then pumps oxygen to all of the body.
- Used oxygen is exhaled as carbon dioxide.
You can only live a few minutes without breathing.
Your muscles need oxygen to function.
