Electric circuits
Generators
They are a device for electrons to move, they have two poles and they produce an electric current.
Batteries
Alternators or dynamos
Photovoltaic solar cells
Hydrogen cells
It is a set of connected components through which an electric current flows
Use chemical process to generate the electric current
Transform motion into an electric current
Produce energy from oxygen in the air and hydrogen
Use energy from the sun
Conductors
They join components in the circuit and transfer the electric current. They can be cables or wires
Receptors
They transform electric energy into another useful energy type: thermal, light, mechanical or acoustic.
Electric resistors -> thermal or calorific -> heat
Bulb -> light -> light
Bell -> acoustic -> sound
Motor -> mechanical -> motion
Control components
They manage the flow of the current
A switch (a 2-way switch)
A 3-way switch
A push button
has two positions, one allow the flow and the other one stop it
is similar to a 2-way switch, but it's fixed but changes when pressed
Has two outputs so it communicates with two different circuits
Protection components
They prevent damage to the wiring or people, they can be fuses or thermal magnetic circuit breakers
