Federal Funding Opportunities
$82 billion for education stabilization funds:
1. $54.3 billion
K-12 schools, largely delivered through Title 1 funding that is about for times what schools
received from the CARES Act in March
2. $22.7 billion
Higher education with $1.7 billion set side from minority serving institutions and close to $1 billion for profit colleges
4. $4 billion
Governors to spend at their discretion with $2.7 billion of that for private schools
Federal Appropriations

Title 1 Grants to Local Educational Agencies
An increase of $227 million above the 2020 enacted level
2. $2.1 billion
Supporting Effective Instruction State Grants (Title II-A)
An increase of $11.3 million over the 2020 enacted level

An increase of $10 million above the 2020 enacted level

Purchasing educational technology that aids in regular and substantive interaction between students and educators
Planning and coordinating long-term closures, including providing technology for online

Supporting provision founds in major education laws, include the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
States still playing a major role
