Should Alberta leave Canada (no)
Hook
50% of Albertans in a survery voted that they want Alberta to leave Canada.
4.371 Million people live in Alberta.
History and background
Alberta is rich because of it's oil industry making it the richest province in Canada
Alberta is the only province that does not have provincial tax.
Alberta has one of the biggest Oil industries in the world.
Specialized information
A country cannot survive with just one industry, Alberta practically only has oil.
Alberta has free healthcare like the rest of Canada
Thesis
Alberta should not leave Canada because one country can't rely on just one economy and, yes Alberta could run on its own in the short term but if you think about it in the long term it's not going to last much unless we find a new major and more vital industry to go along with oil. (unstable new government already supported by new government Alberta's growth is dependent on being part of Canada)
1st main argument
.
If Alberta were to run on it's own what would happen?
<--------
TONS of reforms
Most likely a new form of tax
2nd argument "If Alberta were to stay"
More stability
Good form of government but tax money doesn't go to the good places exactly
Intrest and debt
3rd argument "What other industries could Alberta have" (research)
Real estate
Construction
Finance and insurance
Instability (long term)
