A route of administration is the path by which a drug, fluid, poison, or other substance is taken into the body. Routes can be classified based on where the target of action is.
There are several types of routes of administration which are:
oral, sublingual, rectal ,tropical, Parenteral – Intravenous, intramuscular, subcutaneous
Routes of administration are important because drugs can produce different results depending on the route of administration.
