Ch.7 Law of Motion
Newton's third law
-
-
In an action-reaction pair, the two forces never cancel each other, because each force act on a different object
-
Newton's third law is when one object applies a force on a second object, the second object applies an equal amount of force in the opposite direction
Elastic Collisions: Cooling objects bounce off each other
Inelastic Collision: Objects collide and stick together (not moving)
-
Newton's second law
Newton's second law is the acceleration of an object is equal to the net force acting on the object divided by the object's mass
-
-
-
Newton's first law
Newton's first law is things at rest stay, stay at rest, and thing in motion stay in motion, unless an outside force(unbalanced force) acts upon them

Reference Directions
Reference direction is when you describe an object's position, you compare its location to a reference direction. Positive and Negative are used to describe direction.
