How to use y= mx + b
-
-
Ex: In this example in order to find the equation of the line (y=mx+b) you have to be familiar with where the y-intercept point is then see how many times it rises/runs. You can then replace the values of the slope and the y-intercept with the unknown m and b values

There are four different types if slope and they are 1. positive slope 2. Negative slope 3. Zero slope and last but not least 4. Undefined slope

Y=Mx+b is a equation and each of the letters represent a meaning. For example, the B is the y intercept and the M is the slope etc. to use the equation you have to follow the steps that are find the y intercept then once you have found the y intercept. Start by doing rise over run and then you will be able to create a line by connecting the two points.

More in depth on the types of slope the positive slope rises from left to right. Negative slope falls from left to right. Zero slope rise is zero and is always zero even if it’s divided by any number. Lastly undefined slope and it’s also at zero and undefined.
