Pathogens

TB, esp if immunodeficient
Tx
IV antibiotics
for several wks to prevent bone necrosis, chronic infection, sinus formation, limb deformity + amyloidosis

aspiration or surgical decompression of subperiosteal space if presentation is atypical or if child immunodeficient
-
rest in a splint initially, subsequent mobilisation
