- it promotes an unhealthy sleep schedule
・if there is important homework due the next day, students may stress about it - which could ruin their sleep
・they might learn to value their grades more than their health (which is what society deems grades to come out as) and replace sleep, nutrition and rest to focus on their homework
・instead of going to sleep, people could stay up doing homework, in which the cycle starts - they fall asleep during class, miss important classwork they have to do, and have to stay up doing the unfinished classwork (aka homework) again.

・horace mann invented school, as a way to prepare young men for college. at the time, expected work to do was only like reviewing some content learned in school or finishing a task from school
・ harry p. school isn't the inventor of school, but he had the same idea. in his school, he used to lock children in the neighbourhood up in one room if they showed unacceptable behaviour. it emulates the idea about keeping kids in one place to learn and correct from their wrongs.
・originally, roberto nevilis "invented" homework (we aren't exactly sure, this is estimated to be the first recording of homework) as a way to punish his students, but also as a way to make sure they learnt the material
