Types of Sampling
Random Sampling
- Every individual in the survey has an equal chance of being picked out
- Based on change so can be unrepresentative
Systematic Sampling
- Names selected from sampling frame at regular intervals
- Done by chance, same risk of unrepresentativeness as RS

Snowball Sampling
- Used when frame is difficult to obtain
- Researcher may identify 1/2 people with interests and ask if they are willing to cooperate in sampling , these people then ask others - based on volunteers - can make it biased
Quota Samping
- Interviewers select people that fit certain categories according to a proportion of population (choice is interviewers)
- Unrepresentative as interviewer might choice not to approach someone making it biased
