Should girls be allowed to play on boys teams when they have the option to play on girls teams?
Specialized Info
Men are born physically much stronger and larger than women.
On average, men typically have more muscle mass than women. And those skeletal muscles are faster and more powerful.
Thesis Statement
Women should not be aloud to play on men's teams, because they could get really hurt or potentially lead to unfairness in a game.
If women can play on men's teams, then that would mean that men can play on women's teams and for example in track if a man was playing against women he would probably beat them and that's not necessarily fair.
Hook
Sports should be something that everybody can enjoy no matter if your a male or female. But I think that we should just keep it so that men can play together and women can play together.
Sports are a really fun and your really just supposed to enjoy yourself when playing any sport. But if we mix genders, then people might want to change the rules, and things would just not be the same or nearly as fun.
Argument #1: Potential Injury's
Men most of the time are built much stronger than women. If a women tried out for lets say a boys bantom hockey team, all of the guys are really large and tough lots of the time. So a women could get really hurt during a game.
Men are not supposed to touch a women or hurt women. In the rules of a hockey game in bantom, you are aloud to body check your opponents. I personally think, that it is not fair if one team has a player (women) who is freely not aloud to be hit at all. So if a women were to play on a men's team. They should be aloud to get hit because they can't expect not to get hit at all.
Men and women do differ in physical strength. But they definitely do not differ in skill. A women can be just as good at a sport as a man could be. I do personally think that men sports teams and women sports teams can verse each other in a game. But I don't think that a female can be on a male sports team because their could be some unfairness in there for both the men and the women. It also goes for men playing on women's teams.
Women can easily get themselves very hurt competing on men's teams against other men's teams.
Even the most talented women sports players, don't stand much of a chance versing the average male because of difference in muscle mass, and testosterone levels, and just strength in general.
Argument #2: Physical Differences
As I said in my first argument, men are usually much bigger and stronger than women. If male and female played together, their wouldn't be a balanced playing field and things wouldn't be even. Either the team with the women on it would have the power because nobody could touch her, or the team without the women on it would be better because they are all bigger and faster.
I just think that women should play on their own female teams and men should play on their own men's teams. For example if their was a basketball team with guys that were either over or almost six feet. And the one women on the team was five foot six, their would definitely be some unfairness for that team because their opponents would all be men, and be tall and can jump really higher.
Another reason that I think that women shouldn't play on men's sports teams, is because females should just play on their own teams and men should play on their own teams. I once saw a video where to men competed against women in track and beat them and I think that's just not fair because women should just play and men should play seperately.
What really is exciting about sports, is the physical stuff like speed, how high the players can jump, how skilled they are etc. I'm not saying that men are more skilled then women that's completely false. But women and men differ in these things in their own ways.
Argument #3: Unfair Advantages
If you were to put a 130 pound woman in a boxing ring, and a 230 pound man in with her, do you think that would be fair? Exactly. It's not. The man is definitely going to be larger and stronger than the woman and she could get seriously hurt. It's just obviously unfair due to size and strength which is why genders should just stick to their own sports.
Men have an unfair advantage against women, because even the best swimmers and track competitors that are female, wouldn't make it to the top 400 that are male. That is actually a scientifically proven fact.
Think of an NFL game. Now think, of a short women on one of the teams. Football and hockey, and multiple more sports, are really rough. Even some men get hit so hard that their in a wheel chair for the rest of their lives and just think what could happen to a women if they got hit like that. That's exactly why genders should just play with each other.
