Physical Properties of matter
Electrical Energy
Conductors- materials that allow electric current to pass through them. Ex:copper
Insulators - materials that do not allow electric current to pass through them. Ex:Rubber
Kilograms
Grams
Milligrams
Mass-Amount of matter in an object or substance
Solubility
Ex: Soluble sugar
Solubility- how much one substance will dissolve in another.
Ex:Insoluble- sand
States of Matter
Solid- an object that has its own shape and volume
Liquid - Does not have its own shape and volume
Gas- has its own volume, but takes the shape of its container
Density -Amount of mass in a volume of an object
Thermal energy
Conductors- Materials that allow thermal energy to pass through them. Ex:Iron
Insulators - Materials that do not allow thermal energy to pass through them. Ex:Plastic
Ex of a magnetism - iron
Magnetism- a force that pulls magnetic objects across distances.
Kiloliters
Liters
Milliliters
Amount of space an object or substance takes -Volume
Buoyancy- Tendency of an object to float on top of a liquid.
