The first official Olympic games started in Athens on April 6, 1896.
Even though the first real games took place in 1896, Ancient Greece has been having Olympic games for hundreds of years since 776 BCE.

The venue isn't just about where the Olympics are taking place, it's about the culture and respecting/ advertising new cities.

Have you ever thought that the city you live in or were born in is the best city and you want people to know more about it? If so, other people have also probably thought that as well.

Just in the past few years, 2 billion people have watched the Olympics. Imagine how exposed people get to new cultures from changing the venue.
The most recent summer Olympic games were in Rio, Brazil in 2016 that was a huge hit and opened my eyes to their amazing culture.
The Summer Olympics take place every four years. Over time this ends up being a ton of viewers and countries.
Argument #1- By changing the venue, it advertises the city. This eventually helps local/ small businesses in the area.

Some cities don't have proper gyms, rinks, fields, etc. By building these places it helps the community.
By building these sport venues, it helps local sport teams.
