While using reported speech, we change the first person pronouns according to the subject of the reporting verb.

Types of questions
Wh- Questions ( the ones starting with a question word, such as, what, when, why...)
Yes/No Questions ( the ones starting with an auxiliary or modaal verb to wich we reply with a yes/no)

When we use it?
We use reported speech when we want to tell someone what someone said. We usually use a reporting verb and change the tense of what was actually said in direct speech.
