Mechanism of action

Virion released from infected cells and spread with the respiratory tract are inhibited due to blockade of this enzyme
Indicators
Treatment of uncomplicated acute illness due to influenza A and B virus in adults and pediatric patients aged 7 years and older who have been symptomatic for no more than 2 days
Contraindications
Angieodema, milk protein hypersensitivity, serious rash
Asthma, Bronchitis, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Emphysema
Cardiac disease, Geriatric

Rapivab (peramivir)
Mechanism of action
Peramivir is an inhibitor of influenza virus neuraminidase, an enzyme that releases viral particles from the plasma membrane of infected cells
Indications
Acute uncomplicated influenza in patient 2 years and older who have been symptomatic for no more than 2 days
Contraindications
Severe allergic reactions have included anaphylaxis, erythema multiforme and Stevens Johnson syndrome
