Perseverance Extracts First Oxygen From The Red Planet.
MOXIE: Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment
The MOXIE Instrument is capable of producing 10 grams of oxygen per hour.
producing 5 grams of oxygen, which is equivalent for an astronaut to survive with oxygen for 10 minutes.
MOXIE (Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment), produces Oxygen by removing Carbon atom from Carbon Dioxide and producing the 2 atoms of oxygen into the Martian atmosphere.
The rover is a 6 wheel robot which also includes several instruments which perform various activities. The rover also holds the first aircraft on mars which is, Ingenuity.
