Who is rsponsible
The tech lead and head of IT are responsible for this. it is their job to make a decision to switch to a new POS or get the POS company to sign a contract that the DOS and POS will not be discontinued.
Cause
The problem is most likely due to Zara is the only customer using the DOS POS and although they are using it in all their stores and have over Number of stores, the POS company may want to focus all of its resources on modern technology for everyone.

The CEO and CIO think that the company can continue to rely on DOS and POS that they don't need to focus on the IT to Use Other Platform to manage their inventory and product sales
Consequences
Once the Dos POS stop working that they have nothing to rely on and will cause a huge mess in their company. The store manager don't know what to do which will cause a huge loss to the company
Impact to IT and the group
The IT group will not be able to handle the situation if DOS stops working, since there is no back up plan for the company and it relies too heavily on DOS.
