GROUP 7007 how to graph a line methods by yousef abouelata
value table
get ordered pairs plot and graph
two points
plot the given points and connect them to graph the line.
one point and slope
plot the point and use the slope to help you use rise/ run to find the second point.
y=mx+b formula
using y=mx+b (m is slope and b is y - intercept) to graph plot graph the y intercept (b) then use the slope (m) to rise/run.
how to find the slope of a line? by Yousef Abouelata
using rise/run on a graph.
you plot one point and use rise over run to find the second.
using slope formula
slope formula is delta y/delta x
from the equation of a line.
use y=mx+b to find the slope.
how to write the equation of a line by Yousef Abouelata
given the slope and y intercept
how to use y=mx+b by Yousef Abouelata video explanation:
https://www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra/x2f8bb11595b61c86:forms-of-linear-equations/x2f8bb11595b61c86:intro-to-slope-intercept-form/v/slope-intercept-form
m is the slope
use m to know rise/run and to decide if the line is positive or negative
b is the y intercept
(where the line cuts the y axis) point of the intersection has zero as X (as it falls on the y axis) this means you can find a point on the line
Ex: m = 4 and y intercept = -2 the equation would be: y=4x - 2
write the equation using the the graph.
from the graph find the slope (m): rise/run
find the y intercept (b) (where the line cuts the y axis.)
then use M and B to write the equation y=mx+b
