Firstly, when given two points, you will need to plot them on the graph, forming a line. Then, you will count how many vertical jumps are in between the two points. Once that is done, you will count how many horizontal jumps are in between the two given points. You now have both the rise and the run you will put them in a fraction, but always remember that the rise is the numerator. If the fraction is not simplified, then you will have to simplify it in order to get the slope. That is how you can find the slope using the rise over run method.
