There is also something called a positive, negative, undefined, and zero slope these determine what shape the line on the number line is imagine a person on the left side if they go up its a positive slope if there going down its a negative slope if it straight up or down it's undefined and if it's across its a zero line.

Types of slopes
Sometimes you have to identify the slopes after writing it there can only be 4 possible answers a positive, negative, zero and an undefined slope a positive goes upwards a negative goes downwards a zero is a straight line across the the graph that goes right to lest and a undefined which goes up and down.
-
TIP: As you are moving from left to right if the line goes up its positive but if it goes down its negative.✍️
- You first have to use a concept called rise/run what this does is that it tells where the slope you have to find a pick two points on the line and determine their coordinates determine if its a positive slope or a negative slope a positive slope goes up and right but a negative slope goes down and right.

The Y-intercept will always be on the Y-axis and the line will go through it and it can't be more than one number it has too only be one number that how you can identify the Y-intercept because it will always be on he y axis and the Y axis is the one that goes up and down. The ordered pair of the y intercept includes a zero that stands for the x coordinate and any number for the y coordinate depending on where the line is being cut. The x is a zero because the y intercept cuts the y axis and not the x axis.

- There's another way called the y= mx+b the M stands for slope so after you find your slope you have to plug it into m and the B stands for Y-intercept and its where you put your Y-intercept and you also use the term rise/run for this method.
-
-
Notice that all examples show that the x is a variable and it doesn't make much of a difference. It doesn't change the value of the m. Also note that, the y-intercept is obviously on the y axis.
Make sure you understand that a slope doesn't always have to be in a fraction form. For example, in this equation the slope is 5 so it means we rise 5 and run 1 because 5=5/1.
-
First, you have to know the formula y= mx+b what this stands for is (m): rise/run so to figure out the {M} you would need to know this rise over run it can either be a whole number or it can be simplified so it could also be a fraction y-intercept (b) so it's where the point where the line cuts through the y-axis and they you need to then use m and b to write the equation y = mx + b.
-
Yes, because when you do rise and run there not gonna always be positive sometimes they are negative because the rise goes downwards or the run goes left instead of right it doesn't matter where you put the negative sign as long as its there. If you both of them are negative it means it will become a positive.
