Concept 2- How to find slope of a line
Method 2: Using Slope formula
To get the slope you need to use the slope formula, which is Slope= the change in Y/ the change in X and you get the points on the graph by pinpointing them.
Method 1: Using Rise/Run on a graph
First draw a cooradinate plane on graph paper and plot the two points and connect the two points with a straight line and use the Rise/ Run to calculate the slope.
Method 3: Using the equation Y=mx+b
You can also find the slope by using the equation Y= mx+b and M in this equation is the slope
Concept 1 : How to Graph a line?
Method 1: Using a table of values
Firstly, get ordered pairs, then you plot them on the graph, Finally you connect them together and graph the line
Method 2 : Using two points
Plot the given points on the coordinate plane, and then connect them to form a line
Method 3 : Using 1 point and a slope
Plot the given ordered pair, using the slope which will give you another point to plot, therefore you would end up with 2 points that will form a linear line
Method 4 : Using y=mx+b
B is the y intercept and M is the slope of the line
The slope will be given, So the slope times the X coordinate + the Y-intercept on the graph = the y coordinate. When we find X and the y-ntercept, there will be 2 points which connect to form the linear line
Concept 3: How to use Y=mx+b
Y= mx+b is an equation that helps you try and finf the slope and Y-intercept ir one of them, depending on the information you have.
In this equation M = slope , And you use M to know the Rise and Run. Also, to decide the direction of the line either from left to right or from right to left.
You can use the slope and y intercept can be used to graph a line which is either positive or negative.
Also, In this equation B is equal to the Y intercept and the Y intercept is the point of the intersection has X as zero.
Concept 4 : How to write the equation of a line
Method 1 : Given the slope and the y-intercept
The equation is y=mx+b, therefore we rewrite the equation with the given slope and y-intercept
For example: If the slope is 3/2 and the y-intercept is -6 then the equation of the line is y=3/2x -6
Method 2 : Write the equation of a line given a graph
From the graph, find the slope (m): rise/run
Find the y-intercept (b) ⇒ (the point where the line cuts through the y-axis)
Then use m and b to write the equation y = mx + b
