PATHOGENESIS
first exposure to trigger> stimulation of B cell to produce IgE which binds to mast cell> second exposure to trigger> allergens cross link IgE on mast cell and activated mast cell & T cell release cytokines> airway obstruction> ASTHMA

spirometry, peak expiratory flow, nitric oxide test
allergy test, sputum eosinophils,
PREVENTION AND TREATMENT
PREVENTION: stay away from allergen, avoid smoking TREATMENT: bronchodilators, anti-inflammatory
OCCUPATIONAL ASTHMA
asthma caused by exposure in the working environment causative agent: latex, animals, wood dust, flour
