Student enrolls in school
Students given a universal screener
Information passed onto HR teacher so they can observe student in class
Further assessments done by HR teacher as well as general observations
If assessments and observations by HR teacher also show there may be a learning disability, then student is referred to learning specialist
If learning specialist performs assessments and diagnostics and finds student is performing at grade level and does not need extra support then student continues in class
Learning support finds student may require extra assistance
HR teacher or TA are given tasks and learning aides to help student.
ILP is created for student and they begin intervention with learning support
Parents contacted and given copy of ILP as well as regularly scheduled meetings with Learning Support teacher
Learning support may also refer students to
school psychologist
occupational therapist
speech and language therapist
counselor
If HR teacher believes there is no learning disability then student continue in class
Questionnaire given to parents to check off the bat if there might be anything school needs to assess immedietly
