Output devices
CRT Monitor
Uses:
They were used as the primary output device for computers so the user can see immediately what they are typing in.
They are used with light pens, foe example, to allow design to be created on screen.
Advantages:
The angle of viewing is still better than with most TFT monitors.
They work with light pens in CAD/CAM applications.
Definition
A CRT(cathode-ray tube) monitor is an analog display device that creates a visible image on the screen by directing three electron beams over millions of phosphor dots to make them light up.
Disadvantages:
They tend to be rather heavy and present asafely hazard if not supported properly.
They run very hot and can cause fires of left unattended(specifically as they get older)
LCD Monitor
Uses:
A liquid crystal display(LCD) monitor is a computer monitor or display that uses LCD technology to show clear images, and is found mostly in laptop computers and flat panel monitors.

Definition
A liquid-crystal display(LCD) is a flat-panel display or other electronically modulated optical device that uses the light-modulated optical device that uses the light-modulating properties of liquid crystals combined with polarizers. Liquid crystals do not emit light directly, instead using a backlight or reflector to produce images in color or monochrome.
Disadvantages:
LCDs can have many weak or stuck pixels, which are permanently on or off. Some pixels Amy be improperly connected to adjoining pixels, rows or columns. Also, the panel may not be unifrmly illuminated by the backlight resulting in uneven intensity and shading over the screen.
