Female
increasing age
ACS
caffeine intake
recreational drug use
smoking
hyperthyroidism
signs
narrow QRS complexes (QRS <0.12)
tachypnoea
tachycardia
adverse signs; hypotension, pallor, raised JVP
symptoms
anxious
short of breath
might be asymptomatic
palpitations
adverse; chest pain, syncope etc
investigation
serial 12-lead ECG; regular narrow complexes QRS (<0.12) with a rate of 151-250 bpm
Thyroid function; hyperthyroidism
management
amiodarone 6mg IV rapid bolus
Amiadorone 12mg IV rapid bolus
vasovagal manouevres e.g carotid massage
Indications of synchronised DC conversion e.g. shock (systolic BP <85mmHg), syncope, pallor, sweating
