North America can be divided in five main physical regions:
1.Western Physical Region
2.Great Plains
3.Canadian Shield
4.Eastern region
5.Coastal Plains and Mexican Gulf
The main biomes in the world are in those regions. Some diverse biomes include desert, grassland, tundra, and coral reefs.

CENTRAL AMERICA
Central America is the subcontinent of the American continent. Its territory goes from the isthmus of Tehuantepec in Mexico to the south of the Isthmus of Panama.

HYDROGRAPHY
-Longest river within Central America is Coco river with 680km
-Longest river that flows into the Gulf of Mexico (outside Central America) is Usumacinta with 1,100km.
-There are a lot of lakes in Central America. The biggest lakes are in Nicaragua: Lake of Nicaragua and Managua Lake
RELIEF
-It is mostly a mountainous and rugged region
-The mountain system is called the Cordillera Central.
-The Tajumulco volcano (4,222 mts) located in Guatemala is the highest.
THE CARIBBEAN REGION
This region includes more than 7,000 islands, islets, and coral reefs.
The islands and islets vary in its topography; some are relatively flat with sandy soils, while others, especially the largest, have fertile land, mountains and even volcanoes
Some countries/islands in the Caribbean are: Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, among others.
